Bičiktu-Boom VIII (A-76)

 

Description

The inscription is situated on the southern slope of the mountain Art, 70m from its footstep, higher than the inscription Bičiktu-Boom VII. It is ca. 1km to the North of the inscription Bičiktu-Boom III. It was made on a surface 85х35cm, facing South.

There are 2 vertical lines. The height of the signs is 1,0–3,5cm. The first line consists of 21 signs; the last 2 signs are not clear. The line is 12cm long. The inscription was discovered by the student of GASU T. Tarbanae

Comments

1. The second line repeats the beginning of the first line. Thus, the sequence of signs r2 ŋ2/l2 I A appears twice. After this sequence of sighs we have t2 r2 ŋ2/l2 I/p A in teh first line. It could be repeated also in the second line, but the 7th sign of the first line is absent in the second line. We suppose that the text had parallelism of the two lines and insert the missing sign.  

2. The verb t(e)r(i)l- ist he passive verb built from the base t(e)r- ‘gather, collect’. It was used in Runic inscriptions in the meaning ‘to get together’.
