Kalbak-Tash XXVI (A-48)
Description
This inscription is located on the third plane. The length of the line is 39,5cm, there are 13–15 signs, their height is 2,2-4,5cm. It was discovered in 1987 by V.D. Kubarev. It was studied by I. L. Kyzlasov in 1994 and 2001. The inscription was considerably damaged by later knockouts in 1958. V.D. Kubarev could see only the first and the last three runes which are deeper than the rest. (Kubarev & Jacobson 1996: fig. 384). D.D. Vasil’ev также also could not see this inscription in full; according to his numeration it is А-50. In 1994, I. L. Kyzlasov made big progress in studying this inscription, and in 2001 he could make some additions and corrections to his reading. However, it is even not clear how many signs this rather long inscription has (39,5cm). While Kyzlasov studied this inscription for the first time he thought that there were 15 runes, later he counted 13 ones. The forms of runes 4 and 12 is unclear: It is necessary to do further investigations of this inscription (see Kyzlasov 2002: 139).
