Mendür-Sokkon IX (A-38)
Description
The inscription was found on a rock in the location Üstügi-Karasu in ots northern part, 4–5km from the village of Mendür-Sokkon by the local person Takysova M.B. in May of 1983. It is a horizontal inscription 30 cm long; it consists of 25 signs. Today, we do not know ist exact location. The inscription was copied on 05.07.1983 by Takysova M.B.
Although theinscription was found earlier than the inscription Mendür-Sokkon VIII, we gave it the number Mendür-Sokkon IX, following the numeration of the Svod… by V. A. Kočeev, in order not to mislead the users of both sources - of our catalogue, and the Svod…. In the concordance, this inscription hast the number A-38. The inscription is considered to be lost.

Comments:
1. the problem with reading k(a)y(u) (ä)r is that the final U in k(a)y(u) is usually written.Alternatively, we can read tze beginning of this line as (a)k y(a)r (a)d(a)š : t(ä)gsik …. The sequence of signs k1 y1 can also be understood as a person name, e.g. Akay.
2. t2 g2 s2 I is encountered many times in the Mendür-Sokkon inscriptions. The sequence g2 s2 I k2 is also found in the inscription Mendür-Sokkon IV.
