Mendür-Sokkon V (A-36)
Description
The inscription ist o the North-East oft eh village of Mendür-Sokkon, appr. 5–6km from it, in the ravine of Üstügi Karasu, in 1,5km from the road Ust’-Kan – Mendür-Sokkon on the southern slope of a small hill in the mountain ridge. The surface with the inscription is 73х52cm, it faces the South. The inscription was found by the vice-director of the Mendür-Sokkon secondary school Takysova A.T. in 1980. She should it to Vasil’ev and Tybykova in 1983. It was rediscovered in 1997 by Kočeev V.A. and numbered by him as Mendür-Sokkon V. The inscription is vertical, it consists of 16 signs. Te length of the inscription is 21,3cm.

Comments:
The word eš is written with a special sign fort he closed е, and with the signом š1, which is usually used in words with front vowels. In two Yenisei inscriptions this word is written exactly in this way (E2,1, E51,3).
