Kalbak-Tash IX (A-29)

Description

It is a vertical inscription cosisting of 5 signs; it is 9cm long. It is located in the upper part of plane I. The height of the first 4 sings is equal to 4,2 cm. The last sign is partially destroyed, we have only its end, and we can only guess what sign it was.

V.M. Nadeljaev did not publish this inscription in his articles in 1981 and 1984, he mentioned that there is an inscription Kalbak-Tash XI which is either very short, or not fully preserved (Nadeljaev 1981: 79).

Comments

The verb čär- does not exist  in Old Turkic. Čärgüči and čärgülä have been documented only once in QB 373 where they have an unclear meaning. Consequently, this interpretation seems problematic to us.

Comments

The sequence of signs č r2 appears also in other fragmentsof this plane, see b2 g2 č r2 A. Its various interpretations are possible.
