Kalbak-Tash VIII (A-28)

Description

It was discovered by Okladnikova E. A. in 1980 during an epigraphic expedition of the Institute of Archaeology of the Siberian Division of the Russian Academy of Sciences. This is a vertical inscription situated somewhat apart from the other Old Turkic inscriptions on plane I. It was studied for the first time by Vladimir Nadeljaev in 1980 and published by him in 1984. Later, quite a number of Turcologists did research on this inscription (see Nadeljaev 1984; Kyzlasov 2002: 84; Tybykova, Nevskaya & Erdal 2012: 76). It consists of 4 signs; its length is 5.3 cm; the height of the signs is 1.4-2.4 cm. Vladimir Nadeljaev saw 7 signs here having taken parts of the signs for separate signs.
